User profile and windows

The first option introduced to you is to remove a user profile in Windows 10 from Advanced System Properties. Now follow the below instructions to how to do it. Step 3: Under the section of Profiles stored on this computer , select the profile of the user account that you want to delete and then click the Delete button to remove it. Step 4: Click the button of Yes to confirm the deletion request. And then the profile of the user account will be removed right now.

Note: After you have deleted the old user profile, a new profile with all the default options and settings for the user account will be re-created automatically the next time the user signs in.

Each user account has access to a private file storage area and user interface customizations, and to a shared public file storage area. When you sign in to your computer, you have a myriad of options available for doing so. User accounts can be protected by passwords, but users can choose alternative sign-in credentials such as PINs, picture passwords, and biometric identification.

This chapter guides you through procedures related to creating and managing user accounts, managing account pictures and passwords, and customizing your sign-in options. Windows 10 requires at least one user account. Windows 10 designates this first account as an administrator account so that the account can be used to manage the computer. You can use your Microsoft account to sign in to multiple computers, websites, and services by using the same email address and password.

Signing in with your Microsoft account credentials allows you to share settings and files among all your devices. Any device you sign in to with this account can have access to the same settings and information. Signing in with a local account places limits on the applications you can purchase or download from the Store, and might limit your access to OneDrive.

This classification provides a specific level of permission to manage system actions on the computer. We explain what each of these types of accounts can do in the next section of this topic. These are optional designations that make the user account holder part of your family group. The information in this chapter applies to computer user accounts sometimes referred to as local user accounts and not to network domain user accounts. Windows provides the ability to share one computer among multiple users, or for one user to have multiple accounts for different purposes.

The system creates a user profile the first time that a user logs on to a computer. At subsequent logons, the system loads the user's profile, and then other system components configure the user's environment according to the information in the profile.

In Windows 7 or later, each user profile has an associated image presented as a user tile. The image files for the default Guest and default User accounts also appear here if you have Administrator access rights. Those instances are the only times that the images are created or updated. An environment variable is a special word containing a value.

In your File Explorer , the location bar shows the name of the folder you're viewing. It works like an address bar in a web browser. You can type a location on your computer into the location bar, and File Explorer opens that folder. By default, when you open a new Command Prompt window, the current directory is your user profile folder.
